Chez Nous at The Marlton Hotel
New York, New York
Chez Nous brings the spirit of Paris meets 1980s New York to the historic Marlton Hotel. Inspired by French café culture and the downtown art scene, the identity channels an era when dining rooms doubled as creative salons and the line between everyday life and artistic expression blurred.
The brand direction is intimate, nostalgic, and delightfully imperfect—a nod to leisurely meals, community, and creative energy. A bold palette of cherry red, black, and white sets the tone, while a hand-drawn logo script, expressive typography, and asymmetrical layouts nod to the freewheeling design of the era. Playful quotes and illustrations, drawn from the restaurant’s wide network of artist friends, layer in texture and spontaneity, ensuring the space feels alive, personal, and ever-evolving.
The result is a brand that celebrates food, art, and connection in equal measure: a modern tribute to the convivial dining cultures of Paris and New York at their most magnetic.
