Santo Taco
Manhattan, New York
Santo Taco transforms a beloved downtown space into a spirited, everyday taquería that bridges the culinary and cultural energy of Mexico City with the bold character of New York. Created by Santiago Pérez, the founder of Cosme and Casamata Group, this first solo venture builds on the taco legacy of an iconic corner while introducing a fresh and personal vision. The interiors strike a balance between nostalgic warmth and fast-paced function, with bold finishes, an open kitchen, and vibrant color blocking that reflect the flavors of the food.
The branding follows the same narrative—a tale of two cities—by blending the rich graphic traditions of Mexico with the editorial precision of New York. Bold, expressive color meets sleek modernist typography; handcrafted textures play against conceptual layouts. The identity resists overly digital polish, instead favoring tactile design choices, from materiality to photography, that reflect the integrity of the cuisine. The result is a brand that feels both rooted and contemporary: a visual language that honors tradition while embracing expressive, everyday culture.
